Golden Spike
Golden Spike National Historic Site

The Golden Spike National Historic Site is located 32 miles west of Brigham City, Utah. Travelers coming from the North on I-84 should take exit 26 and drive south on Utah 83 and follow the signs. Other interstate travelers should use Exit 368 off I-15, drive west on Utah 13 and 83 through Corinne about 18 miles, then turn left and follow the signs.

Camping and fuel are not available at the historic site, but restrooms, picnic areas, soft drinks and snack vending machines are found at the visitor center.

The Golden Spike Visitor Center is open 8 a.m.-6 p.m. daily, Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily for the rest of the year. The center is closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and on New Year's Day. Here you will find slide programs, films, a variety of exhibits, and even a bookstore. In addition, 1.7 miles of track have been relaid on the original roadbed where the rails were actually joined.

Golden Spike National Historic Site is administered by the National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior.

Bird Refuge
Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge




From Brigham City, head west on Forest Street and visit the outstanding variety of birds. The 72,000-acre Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge is home to over 200 species of bird including the rare but beautiful tundra swan, the white-faced ibis, and the Western grebe to name a few!

The Annual Peach Days Festival this year is being held September 6th, 7th & 8th. A real highlight of the festivities is the street carnival held each night, right downtown at Forest and Main Street.

Depot
Historic Brigham City Depot

The depot was built by the Oregon Shortline in 1906 and had served thousands of travelers in the past. The 1925 records show 15 daily departures from this Depot but since then passenger service declined and it is now a museum. The Depot houses a museum of railroad and historical artifacts, and serves the area of Northern Utah as an education hub for schools and patrons. A small gift shop is located in the Depot.

Fruitway
Utah's Famous Fruitway

Utah's Famous Fruitway is conveniently located along a 10-mile stretch of Northern Utah's Highway 89 located between Willard and Brigham City. The valley orchards are backed by rugged snow-capped peaks of the Wasatch Mountain range. Lovers of fresh fruit and veggies picked daily at the 30+ local farms will find the 10 mile travel through some of the most beautiful orchard country in the nation well worth it. Most fruit stands have been passed down from one family generation to the next. The hungry traveler will want to make it a point to stop at the Maddox Ranch House to eat and take in a performance at the Heritage Theater in Perry, the oldest community theater in the state, operating year-round.

tabernacle
Brigham City LDS Tabernacle

Built on a site chosen by Brigham Young himself, the Tabernacle is an architectural gem. Construction began in 1868 and was completed and dedicated in 1890. Six years later the building was gutted by fire, rebuilt and rededicated in 1897.












It is still used for LDS conferences, concerts and other meetings. Take a free guided tour during the summertime.

The tabernacle is located at 251 S. Main Street.
